Teaching English and running social activities for street children in Hanoi October 29 - November 11, 2008
Volunteer project: Cau Moi Street Children Club was founded in 2006 by a group of university students with the aim to help street children have better care and education. The group is running a class for the children in which volunteers come to help with the lessons. Beside the lessons, the group also organizes many activities for the children to provide them with more life skills with the hope that they can have some more happiness that a normal child should have. There are about 10-25 children, who themselves are working very hard to earn their own living in the city, joining the club every day after their work in a small classroom. Volunteers will spend time with the class and will help teaching English to the children, organizing games and other activities for them. Volunteers will also help redecorating the classrooms and if possible, enrich their book store (by collecting/buying books from their home country or in Vietnam).
Special requirements: Interest and motivation for working with children in difficult situation. Age range: 18 and over Project language: English
