The tourists are gone and the weather is beautiful at North Carolina beaches! I have a beautiful Charleston-style home near Wrightsville Beach, NC. I'd like to "swap" it for a similar, upscale property in Manhattan, for one week up to 3 months. (I would also consider pet/house-sitting for you while you travel, in exchange for lodging. I did this for a British woman in Skopelos Greece this summer and it worked out well.) The space in my home that is available is the entire ground floor, including a formal living and dining room, a beautiful carpeted master suite with jaccuzi tub, shower, double sinks, walk-in closet, antique dresser and a full size (double) bed.The home also features a spacious, ground-floor porch, and a large, modern kitchen with granite countertops, stainless steel appliances, a laundry room, and hardwood floors. If you can care for my 2 cats, I will do the same for your pets in New York or for a longer swap, I can bring them with me to NYC. They are de-clawed and litter-trained. I will be traveling solo. My accomodations would be ideal for a single or couple. NO children please.

Wilmington's Historic District is 8 miles away (Cape Fear Riverwalk, horse drawn carriage tours, beautiful old historic homes, museums, art galleries, shopping and quaint restaurants). The Intracoastal Waterway is about a 5 minute walk from my house and Wrightsville Beach is a 5 minute drive (2 miles, walkable). Fine dining, upscale shopping, bars, groceries, Blockbuster Video and more are right across the street. I do NOT have a waterfront or water view home, but it's very close to water.
Wrightsville Beach is an affluent, pristine, family beach. Screen Gems studios is also in Wilmington, and Dawson's Creek, One Tree Hill, and countless movies are, or have been filmed here. Katie Holmes, now married to Tom Cruise, lived in Wilmington, NC for 6 years while she was filming the TV show Dawson's Creek.
Golf, fishing charters, surfing, kayaking and more are available nearby.
