If you are looking for a light stable bike, you've come across to the right place. This bike is very light compared to competing mountain bikes that I've tried, and it is also very stable. Its built to last if you continue taking care of it like I have. And suprisingly for a mountain bike - it is very fast! So for sale is my dearly loved and cared for - Trek 4300 mountain bike - 18" mid frame. The bike is made of alpha-aluminum alloy that is much much lighter than competing mountain bikes. I originally bought it for over $450 and had a $50 comfortable Avenir seat installed afterwards because I like comfort. Here is the full description of the 2008 version of this bike: http://www.trekbikes.com/int/en/bikes/2008/mountain_hardtail/4_series/4300/ I bought the bicycle several years ago, but took great care of it and it rides amazing. I originally wanted to commute to work on it from Brooklyn and got it tuned-up at a local bike store. From one trip, I clocked it to a top speed of 28mph down the brooklyn bridge with my CatEye bike computer (not for sale it but can tell you which model I used from amazon.com). I am selling this trek because I decided to get a professional racing bike instead, because I will commute to work regularly and want something even faster. I live in Brooklyn at around Kings Hwy and Ocean Ave, but can bring it to downtown manhattan by the south ferry if you are serious if you want to check it out.
